Black and White (Under age 40? You won't understand.)
You could hardly see for all the snow....spread the rabbit ears as far as they could go.
Pull a chair up to the TV set, "Good Night, David. Good Night, Chet."
Depending on the channel you tuned, you got Rob and Laura - or Ward and June.
It felt so good. It felt so right. Life looked better in black and white.
I Love Lucy, The Real McCoys, Dennis the Menace, the Cleaver boys,
Rawhide, Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, Superman, Jimmy and Lois Lane.
Father Knows Best, Patty Duke, Rin Tin Tin and Lassie too, Donna Reed on Thursday night! --Life looked better in black and white.
I wanna go back to black and white. Everything always turned out right.
Simple people, simple lives...Good guys always won the fights.
Now nothing is the way it seems....in living color on the TV screen.
Too many murders, too many fights, I wanna go back to black and white.
In God they trusted, alone they slept. A promise made was a promise kept.
They never cussed or broke their vows. They'd never make the network now.
But if I could, I'd rather be in a TV town in '53. It felt so good. It felt so right.
Life looked better in black and white.
I'd trade all the channels on the satellite if I could just turn back the clock tonight
To when everybody knew wrong from right. Life was better in black and white!
Pass this to someone (over age 40, of course), and brightentheir day by helping them to remember that life's most simple pleasures are very often the best!

Hello Belizegial...
I love your "black and white"
Yes, those were the good old days...
I have often told my children that I think I had a better childhood than they did because life was so simple then.
I have our old TV from my childhood (the picture tube is missing though) It was the old round tube and I can't find anything to replace it. My mother put a beautiful puzzle in the opening...the cabinet is a beautiful mahogany and looks almost new. I will always treasure it because it brings back wonderful childhood memories for me...
Still no picture...I'll be checking back again soon...
Hugs from willy
hi belizegial,
i love this poem "black and white." yep, those were certainly the good ole' days--the simple days. i watched the majority of those shows, and loved them. there's a saying, "you are what you eat," well, people are "eating" the wrong things from television today. even a lot of the cartoons are so violent, and give children the wrong message. the good ole' days when children not only respected their parents, but other adults too.
thanks for a bit of nostalgia. and i'm only twenty-something. NOT! LOL
hugs and blessings,
sylvia
It's me again...
Just wanted to let you know that I've been thinking of you with Hurricane Wilma in your area. I hope and your family will stay safe.
My son and his family lived in Florida for 6 years. First in Melbourne and then Orlando area. They had some damage to their home last year but nothing serious. They now live in Denver and will be dealing with the ocasional snow storm. No matter where we live, we all have to deal with the forces of mother nature. For me it's earthquakes.
Gial, I'm glad to hear you are all well there in Belize. Our prayers are with all those just to the north of you in Yucatan.
Blessings,
Dale in Tucson
Hey Wanda, Willemina, Dale and Sylvia,
With the technical help of Suzanne aka Desertflowers aka DesertFox,

belizegial, i am so excited to see you have posted your picture. you are so beautiful. i'm sitting here smiling because it's such a nice surprise. it's been such a hectic week for me, i hadn't been doing much blog-visiting (just the regulars-francesca and brenda). so when i clicked on to francesca's new blog just now, there you were. i didn't even read what you had written; i just clicked on your name, and here i am. suzanne is real good at helping people post their pictures. i'm still working on taking some pics of me so i can have one to post. hope all is well on the job and with your family. enjoy the day.

You did it!!! It's so nice to see your beautiful smiling face here and red is your color!
As you have probably noticed, I have not been blogging much so I have to admit that I haven't the foggiest idea of what everyone is talking about. I want to apologize to all of my friends who have been having hardships in their lives for not being there to give a little comfort...so hugs to all of you from me! God Bless and I will try to be better informed from now on.
How Sweet it is !!
Ahhh.....the good old days
At some point we all look up and realize we are lost in a maze.
