The Road Less Traveled (A poem by Robert Frost)

Robert Frost (1874–1963)

The Road Not Taken

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler,
long I stood And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood,
and I— I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Hello Belizegial

Looks like I am first on your new blog...I got home late tonight as I attended a wedding. Actually, the wedding was outdoors this afternoon and the reception is probably still going on. I thought I would check out the blogs before I go to sleep. Not much happening, everything seems quiet tonight. I'll have to check again in the morning...

I have always enjoyed your writings and poems and want to thank you for sharing them with all of us...I enjoyed reading The Road Less Traveled by Robert Frost...have heard it before but it's been a while.

Thank you for visiting my blog recently and leaving such lovely comments. I hope you talked your daughter out of using that pic for a screen saver...I cut and pasted that picture. I should post the whole thing so you can see that I am sitting next to my very cute older brother...

Buenas dias Willemina

Greetings!

I have been away from the blogs the last week as things are hectic at home and at the office.

Weekends are my time to relax and have fun on the blogs. Yes, I did talk my girl out of cutting and pasting your photo but you sure were a cutie pie baby :)

Glad to know you are enjoying the poems, same goes for me. I enjoy the pics on your site and think your little house is so cosy and sweet. Your lawn is well kept, too.
Your two granddaughters are lucky to have you as Grandma.

Keep up the good work and thanks for posting here.

hola belizegial, que pasa? well, that's about as far as i can go with that. i'm just stopping by for a visit today. our weather here has been so rainy for the past couple of days, effects of the tropical storm (at the moment, i forget which one; they come out so fast). we're having a lot of flooding here and car accidents as a result. good sleeping weather.

was reading "the road not taken" poem. it's been some years since i've seen it. want to take some time to reflect on its meaning to me.

how are things there in belize, and at the workplace? how are your daughters? i saw in your profile where you like to share an ice cream cone with them so i wondering about their ages. i miss those times with my daughter, but i have a 6-year old granddaughter who lives near me, and i told her the next time she comes over, we'll have a tea party and bake some cookies. saturday is usually our hang-out day, but i have saturday classes this quarter, so we'll have to work out another day.

you take care enid, and i'll be chatting with you. sending peace and love to you,

sylvia

That's a wonderful poem, Gial. 'Tis one a my favorites. Thanks for stopping over to my blog. I appreciated the kind things you said. It sounds to me like you are doing good by your own little ones.

Have you ever met Colville Young? He was heading the university when I was there, and I got to spend a few really nice hours with him related to the research I was doing.

I would love to come back to Belize someday to see all the changes. You have an incredibly interesting country.

Do you have a picture to put up on your blog?
