Hi Enid, thanks for stopping by my Blog - my "silent retreat" went well, and was very self-revealing. Yes! it is certainly impossible to do if you have children around. I would never attempt it under those circumstances. Sign-language is out of the question, as the whole purpose is to still the mind, that is why one does not watch t.v. or even listen to music, and preferably one should not even journal. So...
